Gift of Cash

Monetary gifts provide maximum flexibility for addressing the needs of the children being bullied and for necessary operating expenses. Money gifts may also be designated for specific projects or capital needs. All cash gifts are 100% deductible.

Stock Gifts

Your appreciated stock (held for more than one year) is an excellent gift. You receive a charitable tax deduction for the value of the stock at transfer and avoid capital gains tax.

Property

Gifts of personal property, such as works of art, furniture, equipment or collections, must be used for a purpose related to our charitable mission. In considering whether to accept a gift of real estate, Jaylens Challenge Foundation, Inc. would determine if the property is marketable so that it can be sold, or whether it should be kept as an investment.

Life Insurance

By naming Jaylens Challenge Foundation, Inc. as an irrevocable beneficiary of your life insurance policy, you can make a sizable gift at relatively low cost and your annual premiums can be tax-deductible. Jaylens Challenge Foundation, Inc. may also be designated as a secondary or contingent beneficiary of a policy if you wish to keep control of the policy during your lifetime.

Life Income Gift

If you wish to make a substantial gift but you wish to receive some income for the property, you might consider a charitable trust in which you irrevocably transfer cash or property to a trustee. The trustee in turn will distribute a certain percentage or amount of the annual income available from the assets back to you or Jaylens Challenge Foundation, Inc. Those payments can continue for your life, or for a specified term of years. The remainder interest in the property would then pass to the foundation. You would be entitled to an income tax deduction for the value of that charitable remainder interest, based on the number and ages of the life income beneficiaries and the percentage of income payments you and the trustee agreed upon. Types include Charitable Gift Annuities (CGA), Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRT), and Charitable Lead Trusts (CLT).

Making a significant gift to Jaylens Challenge Foundation, Inc. or to any charity requires great care. Before you make any decisions, please consult with your financial advisor or attorney.
